Guide to Ethiopia
Things to do
Ethiopia is an explorers playground. The awesome geography of the country makes for some remarkable trekking routes. Whether you're trekking to the heights of Ras Dashen in the Simien Mountains, swimming in the river systems below, or peering into the centre of the Earth atop Erta Ale in the Danakil Depression, you'll be hard pressed to conclude that Ethiopia isn't Brilliant.
Places to go
Ethiopia is a vast country with a lot to offer. With a number of national parks, world heritage sites, historical artefacts and geological wonders, there's no shortage of places to visit. Our tours have been carefully stitched together and promise to show you the very best that Ethiopia has to offer.
When to visit
The main season runs from October to March, with the Danakil Depression becoming uncomfortably hot outside of those months. The months April to September are Ethiopia's rainy season in the south and the Simien Mountains and Danakil Depression are better visited during main season. However, anywhere else is still accessible and there are some fantastic community trekking experiences in the low season (there'll also be no tourists around, which adds a certain authenticity to any visit).
