Itinerary
Day 1: The adventure begins, 17th June 2020
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, our driver will meet you outside the airport terminal and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the day exploring the bustling capital city, visiting the sites of your choice.

Day 2: Lalibela, 18th June 2020
After a leisurely morning in the city, transfer to the airport to catch a late morning/early afternoon flight to Lalibela. Once again, our driver will meet you outside the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the first cluster of rock-hewn churches in Lalibela.

Day 3: Lalibela, 19th June 2020
Up early this morning to enjoy the Mikael celebrations in the rock-hewn churhces. Head back to the hotel afterwards for a late breakfast and some down time.
In the afternoon, explore the remaining cluster of rock-hewn churches and the market in Lalibela. Finish your day's exploring on Mount Tabor with beautiful afternoon views.
In the evening, head to the incredible Ben Abeba restaurant - dinner with a view!

Day 4: Lalibela, 20th June 2020
This morning, enjoy Mass at Ruphael church, it is the monthly saints day so the service is alive with chanting and drumming. Head back to the hotel for breakfast. Mid-morning, take short trip out into the highlands around Lalibela to visit some of the ancient monasteries found in the mountains, including Yimrehane Kristos, Bilbala, Asheton Maryam, and the Nakuta La’ab monastery. Return to central Lalibela for a late lunch at Ben Abeba.
Spend the afternoon at leisure, soaking in this incredible town, and hope for clear weather tomorrow!

Day 5: Lalibela, 21st June 2020
The big day arrives. Transfer to Ben Abeba for 6:40am. The eclipse will start at around 6:50am and will become a full eclipse by around 8:00am, before finishing just after 9:00am.
Enjoy a champagne breakfast as the eclipse begins to take form. Enjoy the eclipse from the stunning vantage point on Ben Abeba's raised platforms.
Brilliant says: it is possible to experience the eclipse from the highlands around Lalibela during a community trek. Enquire for details.
After the eclipse, transfer back to the hotel and then to the airport to catch a domestic flight back to Addis. Spend the afternoon exploring more of the city.
Brilliant says: From here, you can head to Lalibela airport to continue your onward journey, head back to Addis, or continue your stay in Lalibela. This itinerary can be included as part of a wider itinerary. Enquire for details.
